A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the installation of fire sprinklers in establishments or facilities that provide services for animals.
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Section 27-954 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as last amended by local law number 10 for the year 1999, is amended by adding a new subdivision aa to read as follows:
aa. Spaces in any establishment or facility that engages in the business of providing services for animals where animals are continuously housed or sheltered therein for a period of at least twenty-four hours, including, but not limited to, pet shops, veterinarian facilities, animal hospitals, animal kennels, animal pounds or animal grooming establishments.
§2. This local law shall take effect three hundred sixty days from the date of enactment.
