Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

Section 1. Subchapter 1 of chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-107.1 to read as follows:

§19-107.1  Street closure, notification to community boards and council members.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, when the department receives an application for the issuance of a permit or other approval covering a period of three or more business days that authorizes the closing of all or any part of a street or sidewalk, or the redirection of pedestrian or vehicular traffic from any area of a street or sidewalk normally available for pedestrian or vehicular traffic or which will otherwise impede the ability of pedestrians or drivers to use a street or sidewalk, the department shall, within two business days of receipt of such application, notify in writing the community board and council member in whose district the property in question is located of the receipt of such application.
