A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to creating a centralized system for information on real property.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Title 28 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 28-103.14.2 to read as follows:

28-103.14.2 Centralized building information system. The commissioner shall maintain a database that includes all publicly available information from all city agencies in relation to real property.  The database shall include public information from, but not limited to, the department of buildings, the department of finance, the fire department, the department of housing and building development, the landmarks preservation commission, and the rent guidelines board. Such database shall be available to the public for inspection over the Internet.  Upon request of the commissioner, it shall be the duty of all agencies to cooperate with the department of buildings and to furnish such information as the commissioner may require.

                     § 2. This local law shall take effect one hundred eighty days after enactment.
