A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to permissible forms of muni-meter payment.

 

Be it enacted by the council as follows:

 

Section 1. Chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-167 to read as follows:

19-167  a.  For purposes of this section, the term “muni-meter” shall mean a machine operated by or on behalf of the city of New York from which a person may purchase a desired amount of parking time for spaces in designated areas and which dispenses a receipt or tag to be displayed in the vehicle windshield reflecting the period of parking time purchased. 

b.  All muni-meters shall accept both coin and paper United States currency, credit cards, debit cards or any card or pass sanctioned by the city of New York as permissible forms of payment.

§2. This local law shall take effect one hundred twenty days after its enactment into law.
