A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York in relation to the placement of, and requirement of a permit for ground “for sale” and “for rent” signs in residential areas R1 through R10.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

                     Section one.  The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding section 27-178.1 to follow section 27-178, to read as follows:

                     §27-178.1  “For Sale” and “For Rent” signs.  All “For Sale” and “For Rent” ground signs in residential areas R1-R10 must be no longer than six square feet.  Such signs must be removed upon the date both parties sign a contract for the sale of the premises or upon the date of the signing of the lease.

                     §2.                     Section 27-179 of such code is amended by deleting subdivision d and relettering subdivisions e and f as d and e, respectively.

                     §3.                     This local law shall take effect immediately.
