Res. No. 699 Title Resolution adopting the rule amendments of the Procurement Policy Board to raise the micro-purchase limit and calling upon the Mayor to monitor agency micro-purchases so as to protect against abuse and ensure compliance with applicable laws and rules governing procurement. Body By Council Members Jackson, Brewer, Fidler, Gerson, Liu, Martinez, Nelson, Perkins, Moskowitz and Quinn Whereas, On December 11, 2002, the Procurement Policy Board (PPB), by unanimous vote, adopted a rule amendment raising the micro-purchase limit under Section 3-08 of the PPB Rules from two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) to five thousand dollars ($5,000); and Whereas, This new micro-purchase limit is necessary and desirable in order to make a significant reduction in processing time for these relatively small procurements; and Whereas, Raising the micro-purchase limit will allow agencies to process relatively small procurements in a more efficient and cost-effective manner; and Whereas, Section 314 of the Charter requires concurrent action by the Council of the City of New York and the PPB to establish dollar limits for such small purchases; and Whereas, A copy of the adopted PPB rule amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein; now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the Council of the City of New York adopts the rule amendments of the Procurement Policy Board to raise the micro-purchase limit and calling upon the Mayor to monitor agency micro-purchases so as to protect against abuse and ensure compliance with applicable laws and rules governing procurement.
