Body By Council Members Baez, Comrie, Jackson, Martinez and Seabrook Whereas, a bill has been introduced in the New York State Legislature by Assembly Member Sanders, A.9909, "AN ACT to amend chapter 611 of the laws of 1977 relating to allowing certain persons in public employment to file a request for retroactive membership with the state comptroller, and to amend chapter 510 of the laws of 1974 relating to public employee retirement rights and benefits, in relation to providing similar allowances for pedagogical employees of the city of New York similarly situated; and Whereas, the enactment of the above State Legislation requires the concurrence of the Council of the City of New York as the local legislative body; now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Council of the City of New York, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Article 9 of the Constitution of the State of New York, does hereby request the New York State Legislature to enact into law the aforesaid pending bill.
