A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to defining primary and intermediate schools in connection with health staffing.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Subdivision a of section 17-187 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by renumbering paragraphs 1 and 2 as paragraphs 2 and 4, respectively, and by adding new paragraphs 1 and 3 to read as follows: 

                     (1)  “Intermediate school” means any public or private school that solely contains any combination of grades from and including grades 6, 7, 8, and 9.

                     (3)  “Primary school” means any public or private elementary, grammar or other such school that solely contains any combination of grades from and including pre-kindergarten through grade 8; provided, however, that such definition shall not include any school that is defined as an “intermediate school,” pursuant to paragraph 1 of this section.

                     §2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
