A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to establishing ferry service at Canarsie Pier

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Chapter 3 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-309 to read as follows:

§ 19-309 Ferry service required. a. The mayor shall ensure that regular ferry service is established and maintained at Canarsie Pier in the borough of Brooklyn and shall designate either a city agency or a contracted entity, as such term is defined in section 22-821, to manage or operate such service.

b. Such service shall be open to the public and be integrated with the city’s existing ferry system to the maximum extent practicable.

§ 2. This local law takes effect 1 year after it becomes law.
