Summary: This bill would require that the Department of Sanitation be the sole agency responsible for cleaning and maintaining all City-owned vacant lots and the sidewalks abutting such lots, regardless of which City agency owns such vacant lot.

A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the department of sanitation to clean and maintain all city-owned vacant lots

 

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

Section 1. Subparagraph (b) of paragraph 2 of section 16-118 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new clause (1) to read as follows:

(1) For vacant lots owned by the city and for which the city regularly pays all or part of the annual bills, the department shall perform the requirements of subparagraph (b) of paragraph 2 of this section.

§ 2. This local law takes effect immediately.
