A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the City of New York, in relation to requiring the police department of the city of New York to submit certain information regarding gun arrests, gun seizures and handgun, rifle and shotgun registration to the City Council.
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Section 14-150 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding new subdivisions (a) (8), (a) (9), (a) (10) and (a) (11) to read as follows:
§ 14-150. Police Department Reporting Requirements.
a. The New York City Police Department shall submit to the city council on a quarterly basis the following materials, data and reports:

8. the number of illegal weapons confiscated for each patrol precinct separated by the offense they were used in relation to or, if seized as property, whether they were seized alone, with less then 5 other illegal weapons, or with 5 or more other illegal weapons.
9. the number of arrests for possession of illegal weapons for each patrol precinct, the number of arrests for illegal gun trafficking for each patrol borough, and a list of gun trafficking charges lodged for gun trafficking offenses for each patrol borough, including the number of individuals charged with each of these gun trafficking offenses.
10. for each patrol borough, the number of applications received for new handgun licenses, and the number of new handgun licenses issued; the number of applications received for renewal of handgun licenses, and the number of handgun licenses renewed; the total number of handgun licenses in circulation as of the end of the reporting period; the number of handgun licenses revoked; the number of handgun licenses revoked subsequent to an arrest of the licensee for an offense involving a handgun; the number of handgun licenses revoked subsequent to an arrest of the licensee for a violent offense involving a handgun, and in which the relationship between the arrestee and at least one of his/her victims fit the "Family/Household" definition contained in the police department patrol guide; the number of registered handguns reported stolen; the number of registered handguns used in criminal activity subsequent to being stolen.
11. for each patrol borough, the number of applications received for new rifle and shotgun licenses, and the number of new rifle and shotgun licenses issued; the number of applications received for renewal of rifle and shotgun licenses, and the number of rifle and shotgun licenses renewed; the total number of rifle and shotgun licenses in circulation as of the end of the reporting period; the number of rifle and shotgun licenses revoked; the number of rifle and shotgun licenses revoked subsequent to an arrest of the licensee for an offense involving a rifle or shotgun; the number of rifle and shotgun licenses revoked subsequent to an arrest of the licensee for a violent offense involving a rifle or shotgun, and in which the relationship between the arrestee and at least one of his/her victims fit the "Family/Household" definition contained in the police department patrol guide; the number of registered rifles and shotguns reported stolen; the number of registered rifles and shotguns used in criminal activity subsequent to being stolen.
§ 2. This local law shall take effect 90 days after its enactment.
