A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the suspension of driver licenses issued by the Taxi and Limousine Commission due to excessive summonses for horn honking.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

                         Section 1. Section 19-507 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision g to read as follows:

                         g. Any driver licensed by the commission who is found to have violated horn honking prohibitions, shall be issued a warning for the first violation; be subject to the mandatory suspension of his or her license for a one-week period for the second violation within a one-year period; be subject to the mandatory suspension of his or her license for a one-month period for the third violation within a one-year period; and be subject to the mandatory suspension of his or her license for a one-year period for the fourth violation within a one-year period.

                         §2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
