A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the use of chemical agents in refuse compacting systems.
 
 
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
 
         Section 1. Chapter one of title twenty-four of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section 24-119-1 to read as follows:
         §24-119.  Refuse compacting systems; chemicals. - In every multiple dwelling where a refuse compacting system is maintained or is in operation, a chemical agent which can effectively repel or destroy rodents and insects shall be applied, poured or sprayed on or over the refuse daily.
         §2.       This local law shall take effect immediately.
 
         Referred to the Committee on Environmental Protection.
