The Commissioner must solicit input regarding installation from all community boards in the neighborhood tabulation areas. Int 1153-2026 *Kayla Santosuosso   Establishing a demonstration program for the installation and maintenance of intelligent speed assistance devices.IntroductionThis bill would require 1 or more agencies designated by the Mayor to establish a demonstration program that would mandate each owner of a motor vehicle that has been used to commit 16 speeding violations in school speed zones over 12 months to install and maintain an intelligent speed assistance (“ISA”) device in every motor vehicle they own. Such device restricts a vehicle’s speed based on the speed limit but allows for the manual override of such restrictions where necessary. The owner would have to install ISA devices in their vehicles for a period of 12 months, or longer in certain circumstances. Owners that fail to install an ISA device could face penalties or a suspension or a revocation of their vehicle registration. The bill would prohibit data collected by ISA devices from being used for outside purposes and would require such data to be destroyed after the installation period ends. The agency would be required to issue a report about the demonstration program.   Not available Not available
