Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of  the Cities Service Building, located at 70 Pine Street a.k.a. 66-76 Pine Street, 2-18 Cedar Street, 171-185 Pearl Street (Tax Map Block 41, Lot 1), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 443, LP-2441 (L.U. No. 459; 20125024 HKM; N 110404 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on June 30, 2011 a copy of its designation dated June 21, 2011 (the "Designation"), of the Cities Service Building, located at 70 Pine Street a.k.a. 66-76 Pine Street, 2-18 Cedar Street, 171-185 Pearl Street, Community District 1, Borough of Manhattan as a landmark, and Tax Map Block 41, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 12, 2011, its report on the Designation dated August 10, 2011 (the "Report");
 
WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 6, 2011; and
 
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;
 
RESOLVED:
 
Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
