Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Childs Restaurant Building located at 1208 Surf Avenue a.k.a 1202-1212 Surf Avenue, 3002-3014 West 12th Street (Tax Map Block 8694, Lot 18), Borough of Brooklyn, Designation List No. 437, LP-2410 (L.U. No. 363; 20115422 HKK; N 110194 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on January 20, 2011 a copy of its designation dated January 11, 2011 (the "Designation"), of the Childs Restaurant Building located at 1208 Surf Avenue a.k.a 1202-1212 Surf Avenue, 3002-3014 West 12th Street, Community District 13, Borough of Brooklyn as a landmark, and Tax Map Block 8694, Lot 18, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;
 
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on March 18, 2011, its report on the Designation dated March 16, 2011 (the "Report");
 
WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on April 4, 2011; and
 
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;
 
RESOLVED:
 
Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
