RESOLUTION NO. 234

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the West Park Presbyterian Church, located at 165 West 86th Street a.k.a. 165-167 West 86th Street  and 541 Amsterdam Avenue (Tax Map Block 1217, Lot 1), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 425, LP-2338 (L.U. No. 60; 20105349 HKM; N 100224 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on January 21, 2010 a copy of its designation dated January 12, 2010 (the "Designation"), of the West Park Presbyterian Church, located at 165 West 86th Street a.k.a. 165-167 West 86th Street and 541 Amsterdam Avenue, Community District 7, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Tax Map Block 1217, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on March 12, 2010 its report on the Designation dated March 10, 2010 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on April 20, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
