A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to evaluation of sites for hidden driveway signs.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

                     Section 1.  Subchapter 2 of chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-175.2 to read as follows:

§19-175.2 Hidden driveway signs.  Within thirty days of receipt of a request from a homeowner for one or more hidden driveway signs, the department shall conduct a engineering study at the site adjacent to such homeowner’s driveway to determine whether such sign or signs are warranted.  The department shall notify the homeowner of its findings within five days after the completion of such a study.  Upon a finding that hidden driveway signs are warranted, the department shall install one or more hidden driveway signs within thirty days after the completion of such an engineering study.

§2.  This local law shall take effect thirty days after it is enacted into law.
