A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to the submission of quarterly reports by the New York City Police Department detailing the number of summonses issued to trucks for traffic infractions.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

                     Section one.  Subdivision a of section 14-150 of chapter 1 of title 14 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new paragraph 8 to read as follows:

                     8. A report based on summonses given to trucks for traffic infractions.  A report shall be given to the City Council detailing the aggregate number of summonses issued citywide to trucks for traffic infractions.  A report shall also be given to each city council member, containing, for his or her specific district of representation (a) the number of summonses given to trucks for traffic infractions in each patrol precinct; and (b) a listing, by category, of the factors leading to the issuance of said summonses.  Each patrol precinct shall make its report available to the community board of that district. 

                     §2.                     This local law shall take effect ninety days after its enactment, provided that the commissioner of the police department may take any actions necessary prior to the effective date of this local law, including, but not limited to, the promulgation of rules.
