RESOLUTION NO. 1798

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Morris B. Sanders Studio and Apartment, located at 219 East 49th Street (Block 1323, Lot 10), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 407, LP-2267 (Preconsidered L.U. No. 968; 20095215 HKM; N 090212 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on November 25, 2008 a copy of its designation dated November 18, 2008 (the "Designation"), of the Morris B. Sanders Studio and Apartment, located at 219 East 49th Street, Community District 6, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1323, Lot 10, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on January 9, 2009 its report on the Designation dated January 7, 2009 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 26, 2009; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
