RESOLUTION NO. 1765

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Tompkinsville (Joseph H. Lyons) Pool, located at Victory Boulevard at Murray Hulbert Avenue (Block 487, Lots 80, 110, and 112 in part), and portions of the adjacent public way, Borough of Staten Island, Designation List No. 405, LP-2234 (L.U. No. 949; 20095183 HKR (N 090116 HKR).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on September 23, 2008 a copy of its designation dated September 16, 2008 (the "Designation"), of the Tompkinsville (Joseph H. Lyons) Pool, located at Victory Boulevard at Murray Hulbert Avenue, and portions of the adjacent public way, Community District 1, Borough of Staten Island, as a landmark and Block 487, Lots 80, 110, and 112 in part, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on November 20, 2008 its report on the Designation dated November 19, 2008 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on December 15, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
