RESOLUTION NO. 1638

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a new, approximately 430-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility known as P.S. 89, Brooklyn (Cypress Hills Community School), to be located at 2911-2923 Atlantic Avenue and 251-253 Warwick Street (Block 3952, Tax Lots 1, 2, 45 and 47), Borough of Brooklyn (Non-ULURP No. 20085694 SCK; L.U. No. 875).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on September 11, 2008, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a new, approximately 430-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility (P.S./I.S. 89, Brooklyn (Cypress Hills Community  School), to be located at  2911-2923 Atlantic Avenue and 251-253 Warwick Street (Block 3952, Tax Lots 1, 2, 45 and 47), Community Board No. 5, Borough of Brooklyn, Community School District No. 19 (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on September 16, 2008;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Revised Negative Declaration issued on September 10, 2008, and which supersedes the previous Negative Declaration issued on December 12, 2003 (SEQR Project Number 03-004 (A)); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment. 

                                                                                                                                                                                      

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
