RESOLUTION NO. 1488

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Children’s Aid Society, Elizabeth Home for Girls, located at 307 East 12th Street (Block 454, Lot 66), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 402, LP-2274 (L.U. No. 791; 20085441 HKM  (N 080347 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on March 26, 2008 a copy of its designation dated March 18, 2008 (the "Designation"), of the Children’s Aid Society, Elizabeth Home for Girls, located at 307 East 12th Street, Community District 3, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 454, Lot 66, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on May 12, 2008 its report on the Designation dated May 7, 2008 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on June 2, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
