THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 1448

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a 950-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility known as P.S./I.S. 276, Manhattan, to be located at 55 Battery Place (Tax Block 16, Tax Lot 40), Borough of Manhattan (Non-ULURP No. 20085305 SCM; L.U. No. 768).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on May 15, 2008, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a  950-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility (P.S./I.S. 276, Manhattan)  to be located at 55 Battery Place (Tax Block 16, Tax Lot 40), Community Board No. 1, Borough of Manhattan, Community School District No. 2 (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on May 20, 2008;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued on May 12, 2008 (SEQR Project Number 08-010); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

                                                                                                                                                        

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
