THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 1446

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a new, approximately 665-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility to be located at 109 Bay 14th Street (Tax Block 6399, Tax Lot 26 in portion), Borough of Brooklyn (Non-ULURP No. 20085211 SCK; L.U. No. 766).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on May 15, 2008, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a New, Approximately 665-Seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility (P.S./I.S. 163, Brooklyn)  to be located at 109 Bay 14th Street (Tax Block 6399, Tax Lot 26 in portion), Community Board No. 11, Borough of Brooklyn, Community School District No. 20 (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on May 20, 2008;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued on March 14, 2008 (SEQR Project Number 08-008); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment provided that the following protocol is met:

 

                     The SCA shall petition the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) prior to the completion of construction to implement signal timing modifications such that the new school facility will not result in a significant adverse impact to local traffic or pedestrian conditions.

                            

 

 

                                                                                                                                                                                      

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
