RESOLUTION NO. 1407

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the American Bank Note Company Printing Plant, located at 1201 Lafayette Avenue (Block 2739, Lot 15), Borough of the Bronx, Designation List No. 400, LP-2298 (L.U. No. 745; 20085310 HKX  (N 080284 HKX).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on February 15, 2008 a copy of its designation dated February 5, 2008 (the "Designation"), of the American Bank Note Company Printing Plant, located at 1201 Lafayette Avenue (aka 1201-1239 Lafayette Avenue, 801-841 Barretto Street, 890 and 930 Garrison Avenue, 800-818 Tiffany Street and 938 Garrison Avenue (aka 851 Barretto Street), Community District 2, Borough of the Bronx, as a landmark and Block 2739, Lot 15, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on April 1, 2008 its report on the Designation dated March 26, 2008 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on April 15, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
