RESOLUTION NO. 1245

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Lord & Taylor Building located at 424-434 Fifth Avenue (Block 840, Lot 42), Borough of Manhattan, Designation List No. 397, LP-2271 (L.U. No. 657; 20085190 HKM  (N 080171 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on November 9, 2007 a copy of its designation dated October 30, 2007 (the "Designation"), of the Lord & Taylor Building located at 424-434 Fifth Avenue (aka 1-11 West 38th Street, 2-14 West 39th Street), Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 840, Lot 42, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on December 26, 2007 its report on the Designation dated December 19, 2007 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 22, 2008; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
