THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
RESOLUTION NO. 1206
Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 080023 PQX (L.U. No. 595), for the acquisition of property located at 1382-1414 Shakespeare Avenue (Block 2872, Lots 7, 9, 11, and 15), Borough of the Bronx, to facilitate a residential development.

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on December 7, 2007 its decision dated December 5, 2007 (the "Decision") on the application submitted pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter by the Department of Housing Preservation and Development for the acquisition of property located at 1382-1414 Shakespeare Avenue (Block 2872, Lots 7, 9, 11, and 15), Community District 4, Borough of the Bronx (the "Site"), to facilitate development of a seven-story residential building known as Shakespeare Place (ULURP No. C 080023 PQX) (the "Application");
WHEREAS, the Application is related to ULURP Application Number C 080024 HAX (L.U. No. 596), an urban development action area project designation and project and disposition of property;
WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(2) and (3) of the City Charter;
WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on January 9, 2008;
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental review (CEQR No. 07HPD034X) and the fact that a Negative Declaration was issued on July 24, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application;
RESOLVED:
The Council finds that the actions described herein will have no significant effect on the environment;
Pursuant to Section 197-d of the City Charter and on the basis of the Application and Decision, the Council approves the Decision.
