RESOLUTION NO. 1136

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Highbridge Play Center located on Amsterdam Avenue between West 172nd and West 173rd Street (Block 2106, p/o Lot 1), Manhattan, Designation List No. 395, LP-2237 (L.U. No. 597; 20085050 HKM  (N 080068 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on August 23, 2007, a copy of its designation dated August 14, 2007 (the "Designation"), of the Highbridge Play Center located on Amsterdam Avenue between West 172nd and West 173rd Street, Community District 12, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 2106, part of Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on October 5, 2007 its report on the Designation dated October 3, 2007 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on October 23, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
