RESOLUTION NO. 1108

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Thomas Jefferson Play Center located on First Avenue between East 111th and East 114th Streets (Block 1705, p/o Lot 1), Manhattan, Designation List No. 394, LP-2236 (Preconsidered L.U. No. 585; 20085037 HKM (N 080030 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on August 3, 2007, a copy of its designation dated July 24, 2007 (the "Designation"), of the Thomas Jefferson Play Center located on First Avenue between East 111th Street and East 114th Street, Community District 11, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1705, p/o Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on September 7, 2007 its report on the Designation dated September 5, 2007 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on October 9, 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
