THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 544

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a primary/intermediate public school facility to be located at 1740 Macombs Road (Block 2866, Lots 70 (portion) and 100), the Bronx (Non-ULURP No. 20075015 SCX; L.U. No. 271).

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on September 13, 2006, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a New, Approximately 630-seat Primary/Intermediate School Facility to serve students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, to be located at 1740 Macombs Road (Block 2866, Lots 100 and 70 (portion), DOE Instructional Region No. 1/Community School District 9, Community District 5, Borough of the Bronx (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on September 19, 2006;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditioned Negative Declaration issued July 14, 2006 (SEQR Project Number 07-001); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment provided the measures enumerated in the Notice of Determination of Non-Significance, attached hereto as Appendix A, are implemented.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
