RESOLUTION NO. 516

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the New York and Long Island Coignet Stone Company Building, located at 360 Third Avenue (aka 370 Third Avenue, 230 Third Street) (Block 978, Lot 7), Brooklyn, Designation List No. 378, LP-2202 (L.U. No. 242; 20075001 HKK; N 070006 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on July 10, 2006 a copy of its designation dated June 27, 2006 (the "Designation"), of the New York and Long Island Coignet Stone Company Building, located at 360 Third Avenue (aka 370 Third Avenue, 230 Third Street) (Block 978, Lot 7), Community District 6, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 978, Lot 7, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 11, 2006, its report on the Designation dated August 9, 2006 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 7, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
