THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 443

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 060215 GFX, for a revocable consent to construct, maintain and use a pedestrian bridge over Manhattan College Parkway between Waldo Avenue and West 242nd Street to connect a proposed 738-car parking garage (C 060215 GFX; L.U. No. 126).

                     WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on June 23, 2006 its decision dated June 21, 2006 (the “Decision”), on the application submitted by Manhattan College pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter, for a revocable consent to construct, maintain and use a pedestrian bridge over Manhattan College Parkway approximately 423 feet west of the intersection of Broadway and Manhattan College Parkway (ULURP No. C 060215 GFX), Community District 8, Borough of the Bronx (the “Application”);

 

                     WHEREAS, the Application is related to ULURP Application Number C 060214 ZMX (L.U. No. 125), an amendment to the Zoning Map to establish an R6/C2-3 district on an area approximately bounded by Broadway, West 242nd Street, Manhattan College Parkway, and the New York City Transit 240th Street railyards;

 

WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(1) of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on July 17, 2006;

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; and

 

                      WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on March 6, 2006 (CEQR No. 06DCP076X);

 

 

RESOLVED:

 

The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

 

Pursuant to Sections 197-d and 200 of the City Charter and on the basis of the Decision and Application, the Council approves the Decision.

 

 

Adopted.
