RESOLUTION NO. 456

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a public high school facility located at 283 Adams Street (at Johnson Street) (former Brooklyn Family Court Building) (Tax Block 140, Tax Lot 10), Brooklyn (Non-ULURP No. 20065459 SCK; L.U. No. 204).

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on July 12, 2006, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for the conversion of the former Brooklyn Family Court building located at 283 Adams Street (at Johnson Street) (Tax Block 140, Tax Lot 10), into a new high school facility to accommodate approximately 1000 students, in DOE Instructional Region No. 8/Community School District 13, Community Board No. 2, Borough of Brooklyn (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on July 17, 2006;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued June 29, 2006 (SEQR Project Number 06-010); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment; and

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
