THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 379

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 030425 MMX, an amendment to the City Map (L.U. No. 155).

 

By Council Members Katz and Garodnick

 

                     WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on April 28, 2006 its decision dated April 26, 2006 (the "Decision"), on the application submitted by Salanter Akiba Riverdale (SAR) Academy, pursuant to Sections 197-c and 199 of the New York City Charter, for an amendment to the City Map involving:  the elimination of a portion of Netherland Avenue between West 259th Street and West 261st Street, the adjustment of grades necessitated thereby, and any acquisition or disposition of real property related thereto, Community District 8, Borough of the Bronx, in accordance with Map No. 13103 dated June 29, 2005 and signed by the Borough President (ULURP No. C 030425 MMX) (the "Application");

 

                           WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(1) of the City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on June 1, 2006;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on December 19, 2005 (CEQR No. 03DCP057X);

 

RESOLVED:

 

                           The Council finds the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

 

                           Pursuant to Sections 197-d and 199 of the New York City Charter, the Council approves the Decision.
