THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 323

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a public high school facility to be located on the northwest corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 165th Street (Tax Block 2123/Tax Lot 45), Manhattan (Non-ULURP No. 20065392 SCM; L.U. No. 124).

 

By Council Members Katz and Lappin

 

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on April 27, 2006, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a New, approximately 500-seat High School Facility known as the Gregorio Luperon High School for Science and Math to be located generally on the northwest corner of Amsterdam Avenue and West 165th Street (Tax Block 2123/Tax Lot 45), DOE Instructional Region No. 10/Community School District No. 6 (the "Site Plan"), Community District 12, Borough of Manhattan;

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on May 2, 2006;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the State Environmental Quality Review (“SEQR”) for which a Negative Declaration was issued on April 7, 2006 (SEQR Project Number 06-009); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                     The Council finds that the actions described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
