RESOLUTION NO. 218

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Seaman Cottage located at 441 Clarke Avenue, formerly 218 Center Street (Block 4441, Lot 1), Staten Island, Designation List No. 369, LP-2168 (L.U. No. 72; 20065150 HKR; N 060274 HKR).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on December 19, 2005 a copy of its designation dated December 13, 2005 (the "Designation"), of the Seaman Cottage located at 441 Clarke Avenue (formerly 218 Center Street), Community District 3, Borough of Staten Island, as a landmark and Block 4441, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on February 13, 2006 its report on the Designation dated February 8, 2006 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on March 9, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
