THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 1289

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a public school facility to be located at 1501 through 1535 Jerome Avenue and 1526 Inwood Avenue (Tax Block 2859, Tax Lots 20, 58, 61, 65, 68, 73, 77 and 90), the Bronx, (Non-ULURP No. 20055605 SCX; L.U. No. 659).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on November 28, 2005, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a New, approximately 1,000-seat public school facility, known as The New Settlement School, serving pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade to be located at 1501 through 1535 Jerome Avenue and 1526 Inwood Avenue (Tax Block 2859, Tax Lots 20, 58, 61, 65, 68, 73, 77 and 90) in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx, DOE Instructional Region No. 1, Community School District No. 9, Bronx Community District 4, Borough of the Bronx (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on December 5, 2005;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued on October 28, 2005 (SEQR Project Number 06-006); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
