RESOLUTION NO. 1181

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the John De Groot House, located at 1674 Richmond Terrace (Block 188, Lot 40), Staten Island, Designation List No. 365, LP-2179 (L.U. No. 549; 20065007 HKR; N 060009 HKR).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on July 6, 2005 a copy of its designation dated June 28, 2005 (the "Designation"), of the John De Groot House, located at 1674 Richmond Terrace, Community District 1, Borough of Staten Island, as a historic landmark and Block 188, Lot 40, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 22, 2005, its report on the Designation dated August 10, 2005 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 26, 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.

 

Adopted.
