RESOLUTION NO. 1134

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Smith, Gray & Company Building located at 103 Broadway (a.k.a.  96 South 6th Street) (Block 2471, Lot 8), Brooklyn, Designation List No. 364, LP-2161 (L.U. No. 542; 20055634 HKK; N 050514 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on June 14, 2005, copy of its designation dated June 7, 2005 (the "Designation"), of the Smith, Gray & Company Building located at 103 Broadway (a.k.a. 96 South 6th Street), Community District 1, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 2471, Lot 8, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 1, 2005 its report on the Designation dated July 27, 2005 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on August 15, 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
