RESOLUTION NO. 1053

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the (Former) Germania Bank Building located at 190 Bowery, aka 1-3 Spring Street (Block 492, Lot 38), Manhattan, Designation List No. 360, LP-2162 (L.U. No. 504; 20055504 HKM; N 050406 HKM).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on April 5, 2005 a copy of its designation dated March 29, 2005 (the "Designation"), of the (Former) Germania Bank Building located at 190 Bowery, aka 1-3 Spring Street, Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 492, Lot 38, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on May 31, 2005 its report on the Designation dated May 25, 2005 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on June 15, 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
