THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 946

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a public high school facility, known as the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, located generally on the South Side of 35th Street between 35th and 36th Avenues (35-12 35th Street) (Block 639/Lot 16), Queens (Non-ULURP No. 20055457 SCQ; L.U. No. 443).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on March 31, 2005, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a New 1,000-seat High School Facility known as the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts located generally on the South Side of 35th Street between 35th and 36th Avenues (35-12 35th Street) (Block 639/Lot 16), Instructional Region No. 4, Community District 1, Borough of Queens (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on April 18, 2005;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued February 9, 2005 (SEQR Project Number 05-006); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment; and

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
