RESOLUTION NO. 778

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the (Former) Long Island Headquarters of the New York Telephone Company located 97-105 Willoughby Street (Block 2058, Lot 1), Designation List No. 356, LP-2144 (L.U. No. 370; 20055096 HKK; N 050124 HKK).

WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on September 30, 2004 a copy of its designation dated September 21, 2004 (the "Designation"), of the (Former) Long Island Headquarters of the New York Telephone Company located at 97-105 Willoughby Street (a.k.a. 349-371 Bridge Street and 7 Metrotech Center), Community District 2, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 2058, Lot 1, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on November 19, 2004, its report on the Designation dated November 17, 2004 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 12, 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
