THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 551

 

Resolution approving the decision of the City Planning Commission on ULURP No. C 020441 MMQ, an amendment to the City Map (L.U. No. 234).

 

By Council Members Katz and Martinez

 

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on July 19, 2004 its decision dated July 14, 2004 (the "Decision"), on the application submitted by the New York City Department of Transportation, pursuant to Sections 197-c and 199 of the New York City Charter and Section 5-430 et. seq.  of the New York City Administrative Code, for a change in the City Map involving the establishment of Andrews Avenue between 58th Street and 60th Road, the elimination of 58th Street between Arnold Avenue and 60th Street and the discontinuance and closing a portion thereof, the adjustment of grades necessitated thereby, and any acquisition or disposition of real property related thereto, Community District 5, Borough of Queens, in accordance with Map No. 4964, dated December 16, 2003 and signed by the Borough President (ULURP No. C 020441 MMQ) (the "Application");

 

                           WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d(b)(3) of the City Charter;

 

                           WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on August 9, 2004;

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration, issued on April 26, 2002 (CEQR No. 02DOT006Q);

 

RESOLVED:

 

                           The Council finds the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment.

                     Pursuant to Sections 197-d and 199 of the New York City Charter, the Council approves the Decision.
