THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

RESOLUTION NO. 553

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a Middle/High School (MS/HS 362) located at 900 East 229th Street (Block 4864/Lot 35), the Bronx (Non-ULURP No. 20045453 SCX; L.U. No. 237).

 

By Council Members Katz and Felder

 

 

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on August 2, 2004, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a new 1,650 seat middle/high school facility known as MS/HS 362-Bronx, to serve sixth through twelfth grade students of Community School District 11/Region No. 2, to be located at 900 East 229th Street (Block 4864/Lot 35), Community District 12, Borough of the Bronx (the “Site Plan”);

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on August 9, 2004;

 

                     WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Negative Declaration issued August 2, 2004 (SEQR Project Number 05-001); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment; and

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

                           Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
