RESOLUTION NO. 504

 

Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Brooklyn Public Library (DeKalb Branch) located at 790 Bushwick Avenue (aka 1176 DeKalb Avenue), Brooklyn, Designation List No. 353, LP-2054; (L.U. No. 209; 20045633 HKK; N 040474 HKK).

                     WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on May 24, 2004 a copy of its designation dated May 18, 2004 (the "Designation"), of the Brooklyn Public Library (DeKalb Branch) located at 790 Bushwick Avenue (aka 1176 DeKalb Avenue), Community District 4, Borough of Brooklyn, as a landmark and Block 3241/Lot 18, as its landmark site, pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter;

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on June 29, 2004, its report on the Designation dated June 23, 2004 (the "Report");

 

WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on July 19, 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation;

 

RESOLVED:

 

Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.

 

Adopted.
