A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring electrical conductors and utility service lines in Queens county to be placed underground.

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

 

                     Section 1.  Chapter 4 of title 24 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 24-416.1 to read as follows:

§24-416.1 Electrical conductors and utility service lines to be underground in Queens county. a. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 24-416 of this code, all electrical conductors and utility service lines installed in Queens county after September 30, 2004 shall be placed underground.

b.  To the maximum extent practicable, electrical conductors shall be placed  underground on any street or portion of a street during the course of any capital reconstruction project of that street or portion of that street undertaken by the city of New York. 

§2.  This local law shall take effect immediately upon its enactment into law.
