RESOLUTION NO. 191

 

Resolution approving the site plan for a primary/middle school (P.S./M.S. 189-Bronx) to be located at the northwest corner of Steenwick Avenue and Reeds Mill Lane in the Eastchester area of the Bronx (Non-ULURP No. 20035225 SCX; L.U. No. 79).

                          WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on February 19, 2004, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a public school facility known as P.S./M.S. 189-Bronx, a primary/middle school, with a capacity of approximately 900 seats to serve Community School District 11, to be located at the northwest corner of Steenwick Avenue and Reeds Mill Lane (Block 5263/Lots 112, 115, 116, 117, 190, 191 and 70 (portion)), Community Board 12, Borough of the Bronx (the "Site Plan");

 

                         WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law;

 

                          WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on February 23, 2004;

 

WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues and the Conditional Negative Declaration issued December 19, 2003 (SCA Project Number 03-005); and

 

                           WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan;

 

RESOLVED:

 

                          The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment; and

 

      Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan.
