THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK RESOLUTION NO. 923 Title Resolution affirming the designation by the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the Socony-Mobil Building located at 150 East 42nd Street (Block 1296/Lot 46), Manhattan, Designation List No. 341, LP-2117 (L.U. No. 419; 20035187 HKM; N 030369 HKM). Body By Council Members Katz and Felder WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on March 4, 2003 a copy of its designation dated February 25, 2003 (the "Designation"), of the Socony-Mobil Building located at 150 East 42nd Street (a.k.a. 130-70 42nd Street, 375 -391 Lexington Avenue, 640-658 Third Avenue, 131-155 East 41st Street), Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Block 1296, Lot 46, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on April 28, 2003, its report on the Designation dated April 23, 2002 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on May 20, 2003; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
