State Legislation Resolution No. 50 Title State Legislation Resolution requesting the New York State Legislature to pass a bill to authorize the city of New York to discontinue the use as park land of a portion of Van Cortlandt Park in the borough of the Bronx during the construction of a water filtration facility and related facilities, equipment and appurtenances and after said construction, to continue the use of part of such land for the operation and maintenance of a filtration facility and such related facilities, equipment and appurtenances". Body By Council Members Rivera and Comrie (by request of the Mayor) Whereas, a bill has been introduced in the New York State Legislature to authorize the city of New York to discontinue the use as park land of a portion of Van Cortlandt Park in the borough of the Bronx during the construction of a water filtration facility and related facilities, equipment and appurtenances and after said construction, to continue the use of part of such land for the operation and maintenance of a filtration facility and such related facilities, equipment and appurtenances"; and Whereas, the enactment of the above State Legislation requires the concurrence of the Council of the City of New York as the local legislative body; now, therefore, be it Resolved, that the Council of the City of New York, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 of Article 9 of the Constitution of the State of New York, does hereby request the New York State Legislature to enact into law the aforesaid pending bill.
